Scratch building station Rosental part 3

Scratch building main station part 3.

As seen in part 2 the middle section is also been made out of cardboard. The inner walls are painted with the airbrush in the color light-grey (picture 7). The outer walls are painted white (pictures 4 up to 6) so they look like plaster. The window frames made with Evergreen material does have the same color as the rest of the building window frame, the color wood (picture 3) from Vallejo paints and hand painted with a small brush. After curing the frames are placed again in the wall sections (pictures 4 up to 6) and glued to the walls with Kristal Klear. Next step is cutting out window glass from a sheet of Vivak. The window glass is cut in the inner dimension of each window frame and glued in (picture 8)with Kristal Klear as that cures transparent (picture 9). It is a lot more work to cut it out perfect in each frame than glue glass sheets on the inside of the building to to window frames. This because the interior of the building must stay visible and it doesn’t look very well when all sheets are fitted on the frames instead of in the frames. After finishing the window glass a layer of Humbroll Matt Cote is applied to give the glass a more weathered look (pictures 12 & 14). At picture 14 the difference between no coat and the layer of Humbroll Matt Cote is very clear. Both doors for the central main entrance are also finished and also made with Evergreen Stryrene profiles (pictures 11 & 12). A small copper wire brush is made to make the surface of both doors a little rough before painting (picture 10).
